The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure holding of a free, fair and transparent by-election to NA-133 Lahore.
Addressing a press conference in PML-N Model Town Central Secretariat Lahore on Sunday, Khawaja Saad Rafique and other leaders said that the letter of PTI-led government to the ECP was a political ploy because the ruling party wants to escape from the election due to the fear of defeat.
The PML-N leaders declared that they would challenge the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Amendment Ordinance issued by the President because it has no moral status.
Khawaja Saad Rafique said the Lahore by-elections should not be postponed. Ali Pervez Malik said Lahore was the stronghold of Nawaz Sharif and they would win the elections with a big lead.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) councillors from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Town announced joining the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday.
The PTI councillors made the announcement to join PPP in a rally led by former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
On the occasion, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that the joining of youth in the PPP was a welcoming move. He said that the biggest issues of the nationals are inflation and unemployment.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf claimed that PPP will grab victory in the next election.
