Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Muammad Al-fareed Zafar has said that coronavirus is a chronic disease which is spreading rapidly but the corona suspect is to be diagnosed rather than scared.
He added that patient of corona should prioritise therapeutic treatment so that it can be controlled in a timely manner. He said that attendants should not keep any information hidden regarding the patient’s illness and immediately inform the physician of the situation so that the doctor can treat the patient in befitting manner.
The principal further said that the companions of any citizen should not wait for the patient’s disease to worsen because timely diagnosis is much important in corona disease. Prof Al-fareed Zafar praised Dr Rana Muhammad Shafiq and Dr Nadia Arshad for implementing the policy of one patient and one attendant in the emergency department of Lahore General Hospital.
He said that the doctors play an important role in counseling the patients so that the patient and the attendant could be fully satisfied. He urged the people involved in the medicine to popularize the slogan of “caution is better than cure” for the better treatment of patients so as to raise awareness among the masses. Prof. Al-fareed Zafar added social media is the best tool and way for public awareness in today’s world, so publicize social security messages to protect doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from the coronavirus so that nation can be protected from this dangerous virus.
He said that citizens have to cope with this pandemic disease and get rid of it for which they must also play their role and ensure compliance with the government directives.
