The Executive Body meeting of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Lahore was held Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by President PMA Lahore Prof Dr. Ashraf Nizami and was attended by Prof Dr. Malik Shahid Shaukat, Prof Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan, Dr. Irum Shahzadi, Dr. Ahmad Naeem, Dr.Azeem ud Din Zahid, Dr. Izhar Ahmad Ch, Dr. Kamran Saeed Sheikh, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Dr. Tariq Mian and others.
It was unanimously decided that a vaccination center would be established in collaboration with health department at PMA House 66 Ferozepur Road, Lahore, Pakistan.
The Council decided to hold meetings with Civil Society associations to highlight infringement of human rights in Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Act.
Council condemned the harassment of doctors by Punjab Healthcare commission.
The council, through a resolution registered its reservations of non-registration of postgraduate qualifications of doctors by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
It was decided that a meeting will be conducted with President of PMC in future to address this issue.
Due to COVID 19 pandemic, other diseases have been put on back burner and patients are being neglected.
This highlights the failure of administration. The government and health department should rectify this issue on priority.
Issue of cleanliness of hospitals and environmental pollution in healthcare institutions was deliberated at length by the council.
A committee was constituted to investigate the cutting of 60 years old historical Trees at King Edward Medical University Mayo Hospital Lahore.
