ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to various utility stores in Islamabad to review the distribution of the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package.
The Prime Minister met the beneficiaries during the visit and asked them about the problems faced in getting the package.
The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure that the people who come to get the Ramadan package do not face any kind of difficulty.
Just a day before, on instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanvir Hussain and Attaullah Tarar paid a surprise visit to an outlet of Utility Stores in Islamabad.
They reviewed the prices and quality of items being provided on subsidized rates to the people during Ramadan.
The Federal Minister also asked questions to the citizens present at the Utility Stores.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanvir Hussain said special concession is being given to consumers at the Utility Stores under Ramadan Relief Package. He said the government is making all possible efforts to ensure availability of edible items during the holy month of Ramadan.
Rana Tanvir Hussain said edible items are available at lower prices at the Utility Stores and the government is determined to maintain these rates.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the government is taking measures to provide relief to the poor people during Ramadan. He said edible items are being provided to the people on subsidized rates under the Ramadan Package announced by the government. He said special concession has been given on various items, including flour, ghee, and sugar.
The Federal Ministers also reviewed the provision of different items being supplied to the beneficiaries of Benazir income Support Programme under a special subsidy.
The Federal Ministers, on the demand of buyers, instructed to increase counters at the Utility Stores and expedite the supply of edible items for the people.
