The Pakistan Jamhoori League (PJL) in association with the Muslim Council of America (MCA) has announced launching a “Give Justice to Aafia” campaign for the release of Pakistani Dr Aafia Siddiqui, imprisoned in the United States.
Letters will be written to international human rights organizations, including the OIC, UN to play a role in the release of Dr Aafia.
Talking to media, Rana Zaman Saeed, head of Pakistan Jamhoori League, said that Pakistan Jamhoori League and Muslim Council of America have jointly mobilized Pakistan community based in USA for the campaign.
They have also started regular contacts and meetings with members of US Senate and Congress as part of this campaign and completed homework for a team of legal experts to fight the legal battle.
Rana Zaman Saeed said that the Muslim Council of America is working hard in the United States for the protection of the rights of Muslims as well as human rights.
“We are sure that when we will work together surely we will succeed and the time has come for the United Nations and other international organizations to break their silence on this issue and play their role for the release of an innocent Pakistani woman Dr. Aafia.” The PJL leader also underscored that they want to ask Prime Minister Imran Khan to play his role for the release of Aafia Siddiqui as promised.
The chairman Pakistan Jamhoori League said that there is no doubt that the punishment meted out to Dr Aafia Siddiqui is the worst massacre of justice in the history of humanity. “We will succeed in the mission and Aafia Siddiqui will soon set foot on Pakistani soil.”
