The Punjab Healthcare Commission on Thursday banned corona testing at the Mughal Diagnostic and Research Centre for not implementing the requisite standards.
A special inspection of the Mughal Centre (Johar Town) was carried out, but its processes for testing were found compromised, and the ban was imposed. Earlier, the National Institute of Health had visited the premises as well.
On the other, the PHC teams have sealed 20 quackery outlets in four cities after carrying raids on 150 treatment centres. Out of these, 54 were found to have been converted into other businesses. In Sheikhupura, besides closing down businesses of six quacks, New Standard Lab was also sealed since it has neither got the PHC registration nor employed qualified staff.
In other cities, seven backstreet clinics in Lahore, Kasur 4, and three in Chiniot were locked down. Bilal Clinic, Shaheen Clinic, Siraj Hadi Jorr, Jabroo Pehalwan, Tahir Shifakhana, Abdullah Dawakhana and Abu Bakar Dental Clinic were closed in the city.
