PESHAWAR – Significant rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong westerly wave prevails over western parts of Pakistan. It may grip most parts of the country on 13th April and may persist in upper parts till 15th April.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Karak, Kohat, Lucky Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Hailstorms are also expected at isolated places during the period. Heavy rainfall may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Manshera and tributaries of Kabul River from 13th to 15th April.
Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 31-33 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 28-30 C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature reached 38 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 26 per cent.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 39 per cent.
