PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next couple of days.
According to the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave persists over western parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of the province on Monday evening/night and the next two days.
Extremely cold weather is expected in upper districts during the period.
Fog/smog is likely to occur in Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Takht Bhai, Charsadda and Dera Ismail Khan during morning and night hours.
Less visibility may cause the closure of portions of Motorways and disrupt traffic on the National Highway from late night till early morning.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 04-06 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 02-04 C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across the province during the last 24 hours.
Fog prevailed in the plains and freezing weather in the upper districts.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where the mercury dropped 04 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 83 per cent.
