PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rains with snowfall over mountains for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the weekend.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting Balochistan and upper Sindh. It is likely to affect upper parts of Pakistan from tonight.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Balakot, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kurrum, Waziristan, Tank, Khyber and Bajaur on Friday evening/night.
On Saturday and Sunday, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsaddha, Nowshera, Swabi, Buner, Balakot, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kurrum, Waziristan, Tank, Khyber and Bajaur.
Peshawar’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 04-06 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, light rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Cold weather prevailed elswhere in the province.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 14 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
