PESHAWAR – The cold wave persisted in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday with experts seeing no respite from the prevailing harsh weather conditions during the current week
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 06 degrees Celsius below freezing.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature dropped to freezing point, making Tuesday the coldest day of this season.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
The dense fog prevailed in the plains which disrupted inter and intra-city roads in the plains.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Extremely cold weather is likely in upper districts.
Fog update for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Dense Fog is likely to persist in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas during morning and night hours.
Dense fog will continue to affect normal vehicular flow on inter and intra-city roads.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 C on Wednesday and Thursday.
