PESD rescued 115,527 victims in October

Director-General Punjab Emergency Service Department (PESD) Dr Rizwan Naseer said that PESD rescued 115,527 victims while responding to 116,492 emergencies with an average response time of seven minutes across Punjab during month of October 2021.

He said that out of 116,492 emergencies, Rescue Service responded 34955 were road traffic accidents, 65281 medical emergencies, 1601 fire incidents, 2930 crime incidents, 102 drowning incidents, 44 building collapses, 11 explosions and 11568 miscellaneous operations in Punjab.

He was presiding over monthly review meeting held at PESD Headquarters here on Monday, which was attended all Heads of wings of Rescue Headquarters and Emergency Services Academy.

At this occasion, the Head of Provincial Monitoring Cell briefed the DG PESD about monthly emergency statistics. He was informed that 463 people died in 34955 RTCs in Punjab during the last month.

Out of these traffic crashes, the majority of traffic crashes 8937 occurred in Lahore in which 46 people died.

Similarly, 2532 RTCs in Multan, 2603 in Faisalabad, 2043 in Gujranwala, 1245 in Rawalpindi and 814 in Sargodha.

Similarly, the majority of fire incidents took place in major districts i.e 362 incidents in Lahore, 139 in Faisalabad, 88 in Rawalpindi, 82 in Multan, 74 in Gujranwala and 69 in RY Khan.

It has also been observed that 549 crime incidents were reported in Lahore, 226 in Faisalabad, 176 in Multan, 132 in Sahiwal, 142 in Gujranwala, 120 in DG Khan, 95 in Bahawalpur and 88 in Okara.
