Amid reports that the grand peace convened to mediate talks between the warring tribes of the violence-hit Kurram district was close to affecting a permanent cease fire that would ensure lasting peace in the region, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday emphasized that restoring peace and security in the province was his responsibility and he will ensure its implementation.
“The Kurram unrest involving the two factions has persisted for the last more than 50 years yet it is close to being resolve”. I will personally ensure its resolution and ensure long lasting peace in the region since it is our responsibility”. Gandapur declared while talking to the media in Peshawar on Tuesday saying the situation in Kurram was under control and his government was effectively working for maintaining the law and order in Kurram.
The Chief Minister also reiterated on PTI pledge to strive for what he said HaqeeqiAzadi in the year 2025 adding “We will have to bring the actual freedom. Those who have brought the white paper should apprise the masses of their performance.”
Ali Amin Gandapur said that KP has increased its revenue by more than 24 percent. “If anyone claims to have improved their economy, they should show the results,” he said.
He lashed out at the Shehbaz Sharif led coalition government in the center asking the federal government to tell about its performance. “Tell us how much revenue, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan had gathered. In fact the federal government and Punjab were facing significant economic deficits, with Punjab in a 150 billion rupee shortfall”. Gandapur said adding we have collected Rs103 billion above our targets.
KP pointed out that the IMF had acknowledged KP was meeting its targets. “We have collected Rs103 billion above our targets”. He maintained and added that those who lack public support cannot approach the people. “We have the public’s support, and we will continue to work for their welfare”.
