Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to review theperformance of the national team players to determine the future oftheir contracts.
According to sources, the national cricket team’s central contracts, established for three years by PCB last year, have reached their firstmilestone.
As the initial year concludes, a comprehensive performance review willbe held to determine the future of the contracts.
The original financial model, designed to span the length of thecontracts, is now under scrutiny as the cricket board contemplatesmodifications based on the players’ performance.
Sources reveal that based on this year’s performance reports, decisionswill be made regarding renewing or revising players’ contracts. Playersexhibiting subpar performance may face demotion or termination from thecentral contract list.
The PCB is also considering changes to the financial model of thecontracts and is seeking legal advice on potential modifications to thecurrent procedures.
This review could lead to significant changes in the central contracts, especially for those players whose performance has not met the expectedstandards.
Despite any changes, players wishing to participate in leagues willstill require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB.—NNI
