LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi halted the announcement of the national team for the T20 World Cup 2024, the sources close to the development said on Friday.
The announcement for the national team for the T20 World Cup, set to begin next month in the USA and West Indies, was expected today.
The sources said that Mohsin Naqvi expressed dissatisfaction with the selection process of the national team.
According to the sources, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi did not object to the names of the players but was displeased due to the lack of formal meetings.
In response to the issue, Mohsin Naqvi asked the selection committee for an explanation via a letter.
The sources stated that the minutes of any meeting conducted for the team’s selection were not provided to Mohsin Naqvi, leading to his displeasure. He also took notice of it, they added.
The sources also said that the national team for the T20 World Cup would not be announced until the entire selection process is completed.
