KARACHI – A plane of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made an emergency landing at the Karachi airport in wee hours of Monday after it developed technical fault midair, leaving passenger shocked.
The Dubai-bound flight PK-235 took off from the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, at 3:30 am with two hours delay and had to make the emergency landing at 5:15 am at the Jinnah International airport.
A passenger told that they started hearing weird noise from the plane’s engine after one hour flight and it frightened all those on board. She said some of the passenger reciting “Kalma Taiba” out of fear while some suffered low blood pressure due to stress.
The pilot, however, managed to land the plane at the Karachi airport safely, she said, adding that medical officials also checked the passengers. She said children are still shivering out of fear, adding: “Thank God we are safe”.
Trauma Not Ends Here
The passenger said the flight landed at the Karachi airport at 5:15 am and passengers, including children and women, are forced to wait for hours while sitting on chairs.
She said till 9 am the situation is still unclear about the next flight, adding that the PIA staffers are not cooperating with them as they have left them helpless at the airport.
A video shared by the passenger showed children, who left their hour at 12 midnight to take the flight, are restless while some of them lay on the chairs.
She said planes can develop technical faults during flight since it is machinery but the management can be improved. “We are stranded for over four hours at the airport and no one is here to help us,” she said while demanding immediate action to address the issue.
