German ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck visited Alhamra Art Centre along with the head of press and culture Christian Reason Berger. Ambassador met with chairperson Board of governor Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, Munaza Hashmi and executive director Lahore arts council Alhamra, Ather Ali Khan and exchanged views on cultural aspects.
Chairperson Board of governor Lahore Arts Council Munaza Hashmi said that we are promoting positive social values through festivals in the field of arts, children festival will be also conducted, Alhamra’s priority is to teach children art and creating ways to give youth opportunity, scholars from all around the world participates in Faiz Festival. Alhamra is promoting art and culture on national and international level, she added. Current government is taking serious steps to promote art and literature. She further said that Alhamra will always be promoting art and culture.
Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said that according to contemporary demand council is promoting 12 fields of art including, theatre, literature, dance, ford children and music through festivals. Alhamra is playing an essential role in creating positive image of Pakistan. He said that there was a good public response on workshops, exhibitions, festivals and other activities.
German ambassador was given a presentation on the activities of Alhamra, which he appreciated. He said cultural beauty of Pakistan is admirable and Alhamra is a recognition of Pakistan on international level. Pleasant attitutde of Pakistani people has inspired him. He said that our people should have an opportunity to see cultural beauty for that we are willing. German ambassador visited Alhamra gallery, halls, academy and archives and research centre.
