ISLAMABAD – Distressed people from Pakistan are taking extreme measures to reach Europe illegally, and a couple along with their four children drowned in the Turkiye Sea while trying to start a new life in Europe.
More and more people are opting for illegal ways to reach Europe amid the financial crisis at home, and heart-wrenching incidents in illegal migration continue to make headlines despite government measures.
The unfortunate incident happened with family of Ali Agha, a resident of Quetta, Balochistan, who embarked on a dangerous trip to Europe along with his wife and four children.
The boat in which six of them along with other people were travelling capsized due to sea storm in Turkey’s Chanak Qila.
After the tragic incident, relatives of ill-fated family members buried their loved ones in Istanbul.
It has been learnt that there were scores of migrants moving on the boat including Ali Agha, his wife, and children.
Turkish officials have not issued exact casualties of people. So far, 23 bodies have been recovered from the sea so far.
At least eight suspected migrants, believed to have died in the same boat tragedy, were found dead on a beach in southern Mexico. Most of the victims were Asian.
Despite the horror stories, desperate migrants from Pakistan and some African countries are fleeing from home to Europe to escape violence and poverty.
