KARACHI – Pakistan has showcased its indigenously developed combat drone, Shahpar III, at the global gefense Exhibition, IDEAS 2024, in Karachi on Tuesday.
This modern drone is equipped with advanced combat features and weapons. With a medium flight range, it is capable of covering long distances for up to 30 hours while being equipped with modern weapons and systems.
The Shahpar drone can carry a payload of 1,650 kilograms and is fitted with domestically developed avionics and a modern flight control system.
Asad Kamal, CEO of Global Industrial and Defense Solutions, called it a significant achievement, adding that it shows our 30 years of hard work.
It is recalled that GIDS has previously introduced Shahpart-I and Shaheen-II as well.
Shahpar-II Block II is a medium altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft with armed capability. It has a modular airframe structural design comprising of advanced composite and metallic hybrid structure with improved aerodynamic design.
Some of the notable features of the Shahpar system include its autonomous take-off and landing system, a robust autopilot scheme, user friendly and a comprehensive mission planning and management software suite, reliable data links and the capability of integrating various types of EO payloads.
