Pakistan and the United Kingdom on Tuesday reaffirmed the importance of strong bilateral relations and underscored the shared interest in promoting cooperation in trade, investment and climate action. The affirmation came at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Hamish Falconer, the UK Under-Secretary of State for Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Both sides noted the strong convergence between Pakistan and the United Kingdom on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.

They reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and discussed regional issues of common interest, Office of Foreign Office Spokesperson said.

The two sides also touched upon regional and bilateral issues of common interest and agreed on ways to deepen Pakistan-UK cooperation.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen the traditionally cordial Pakistan-UK ties.

He also briefed the Parliamentary under Secretary Falconer on Pakistan’s perspective on Afghanistan and the evolving situation in South Asia.
