BULAWAYO – Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second ODI in Bulawayo on Tuesday to level the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a below-par 146-run target for the victory, Pakistan crossed the finishing line in 18.2 overs without losing any wicket.
Player of the match Saim Ayub scored a breath-taking maiden century (113) on just 62 deliveries. Abdullah Shafique contributed 32 in 148-run unbeaten opening partnership.
After opting to bat first, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out on 145 in 23.3 overs. Dion Mayers was the top scorer with 33-run, followed by Sean Williams who made 31. Skipper Craig Ervine scored 18-run, Sikandar raza 17, Brian Bennett 14 and Blessing Muzarabani 11.
Abrar Ahmed bagged four wickets, Salman Agha three, and Saim Ayub and Faisal Akram one each while Tadiwanashe Marumani was run out.
The series decider will be played at the same venue on Thursday, November 28.
