ISLAMABAD – Minister of Information Technology and Telecom Dr Umar Saif has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment of the Digital Cooperation Organization’s plans and initiatives aimed at promoting digital prosperity.
The minister expressed the views while representing Pakistan at the third General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) held in Bahrain on Wednesday.
Saif reinforced the efforts for digital cooperation in DCO geography. “He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to DCO & it’s initiatives & briefed about the progress on DFDI initiative, championed by Pakistan,’ read the official statement.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya welcomed all member states, observers, partners, international organizations and other stakeholders to the DCO 3rd General Assembly.
She acknowledged the promising opportunities the digital economy provides, and also pointed out the challenges, particularly the widening digital divide that affects less developed countries, women, youth, and marginalized populations.
She also highlighted the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation to address common challenges and harness opportunities.
