Pakistan passport fee structure review – January to December 2024

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani citizens are required to obtain passport from the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports if they are planning to abroad as it is mandatory for international trips.

DGI&P issue passports to the citizens if they meeting the requirements and pay the fixed fee.

A citizen, who holds valid Pakistan passport, when in a foreign country, is entitled to the protection of diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in that country.

Passport is the only document that confirms the identity of the citizen abroad of Pakistan, as well as, realizes his/her right to exit from the country and entry into the country.

A Review of Passport Fee in Year 2024

In the opening month of January 2024, the normal fee for 36-page passport for 5 years stood at Rs4,000 while the urgent fee was Rs5,000.

The normal fee for 72-page passport with five years validity stood at Rs5,500 while the urgent fee for same travel document was Rs9,000.

The normal and urgent fee for 100-page passport with five-year validity was Rs6,000 and Rs12,000 respectively.

The normal fee for 36-page passport with 10 years validity was Rs4,500 while the urgent for the same was Rs7,500. Similarly, the normal fee for 72-page passport with 10 years validity stood at Rs8,250 while the urgent was Rs13,500.

The normal and urgent fee for 100-page passport with 10 years validity stood at Rs9,000 and Rs12,000, respectively.

When the Fee was Increased?

The fee for passport was increased in March 2024, jacking up the normal fee for 36-page passport with five years validity to Rs4,500, while the urgent processing fee has increased from Rs5,000 to Rs7,500.

For 10-year validity period, the fee for 36-page passport has been increased to Rs 6,700 , with the urgent fee rising to Rs 11,200.

For 72-page passport for 5 years, people will have to pay Rs 8,200 for normal processing and Rs 13,500 for urgent processing. For 100-page passport valid for 10 years, the new fee surged to Rs12,400 for regular processing and Rs20,200 for urgent processing.
