Embassy of Pakistan in Stockholm hosted an event to celebrate the festivities of Christmas, the Swedish festival of Lucia and New Year, today. The event was attended by the members of Pakistani diaspora from all walks of life and Swedish friends of Pakistan .Pakistan origin choir from Equimenia church in Hallunda sang commemorative songs. Renowned pianist Victoria and soprano Paulina Pfieffer also performed at the occassion and delighted the audience.
Ambassador Zahoor Ahmad felicitated the guests on the occassion of Christmas and St. Lucia. In his remarks Ambassador Zahoor Ahmed talked about the importance Pakistan attaches to the rights of its religious minorities and stressed on the need for mutual respect and tolerance between followers of different faiths.
Deputy Director General from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador NiklasTuve in his remarks extended his felicitations and noted that the upcoming year will be special since it will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan Sweden diplomatic relations. He also expressed the hope that the new year will bring peace and prosperity to all those suffering from violence, aggression and persecution.
