Pakistan Army Chief affirms strong ties, continued support in meeting with Saudi FM

ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir praised Pakistan’s strong relations with Saudi Arabia during a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the military’s media wing said Tuesday.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Gen Asim discussed mutual interests and policies to further bolster bilateral cooperation across various sectors with Prince Faisal Bin Farhad Al Saud.

The visiting dignitary emphasized enduring and strategic nature of ties between two Islamic nations, highlighting the need to explore various avenues to further cement bilateral ties.

COAS expressed gratitude for delegation’s visit, reaffirming the longstanding bond of brotherhood between Islamabad and Riyadh.

He underscored the reverence and affection that the people of Pakistan hold for their Saudi brethren. The army chief reiterated full support for the delegation and conveyed his best wishes for mutually beneficial outcomes from the interaction for both states.

A high-level Saudi delegation, led by FM Faisal arrived in Pakistan on Monday as part of efforts by Pakistan to attract investment from Riyadh.
