Terms Kissan Card a historic step to strengthen the farming community

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said that hospitals are under stress due to increasing number of coronavirus patients. The government, however, will ensure supply of oxygen to hospitals.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a tweet, said that situation of coronavirus is becoming worse by every passing day and CM Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to increase number of ventilators and beds in hospitals.
The CM’s aide warned that government will deal with iron hands with people who will be involved in hiking prices of oxygen cylinders over increase in demand.
Meanwhile, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is materializing the long-awaited dream of South Punjab province, adding that the South Punjab Secretariat is a giant leap in this regard as the promise made with the people is nearer.
Talking to the media at Multan Tea House, Dr Firdous said rights of the people of South Punjab will be given to them as both PM Imran Khan and CM Usman Buzdar is taking interest in the welfare of the people.
A historic development package is being chalked out by the government because the welfare of the masses is the basic job of every democratic government, she said.
The Special Assistant said the people of South Punjab have always stood against the unscrupulous elements as a solid rock to defend the country.
She said that PM Imran Khan is the only leader who understands the pain and suffering of the people of this region and that is why the development of South Punjab has been made an important part of the PTI manifesto.
Dr Firdous said that necessary infrastructure like hospitals, universities and industrial estates are being established to provide job opportunities and other facilities to the people.
She said the government has taken another important step by launching the Kisan (farmer) Card which will provide direct financial benefits to the farmers in the shape of cash transfer. This will also encourage the farmers to grow more crops to feed the countrymen.
The SACM said that farmers will be able to timely procure pesticides, seeds and other essential items by collecting subsidy amount directly from the ATM through Kisan Card.
This will benefit the farmers’ community in the province as a subsidy worth billions of rupees will be provided annually to one million farmers, she said.
Dr Firdous said the Kisan Card will be used to provide support to farmers and provide them money in moments of calamity and crisis as well.
She extended felicitations to the people of South Punjab over the dawn of a new era of development and prosperity under the leadership of dynamic leadership of PM Imran Khan.
The SACM said in the wake of the increasing number of covid-19 cases, CM Usman Buzdar has directed the authorities concerned to increase the number of ventilators and oxygen beds immediately in hospitals.
She said the concerned department is in constant liaison with the oxygen supply companies and taking all necessary steps keeping in view the demand and supply.
The Special Assistant urged people to follow SOPs, stay at home and remain safe and avoid going out unnecessarily to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
