ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar assured that passports to overseas Pakistanis would be issued within sixty days.
He announced it during a meeting in Islamabad where he discussed matters pertaining to welfare of overseas Pakistanis.
The Deputy Prime Minister was given a comprehensive briefing by the Interior Secretary and the DG Immigration and Passports regarding the timely issuance of passports to overseas Pakistanis.
The development comes as reports claimed that in-land and overseas Pakistanis are facing delays in issuance of passports as normal category was taking over three months.
Furthermore, the government has announced the withdrawal of a notification banning the issuance of passports to asylum seekers abroad.
