Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rahman has said that overseas Pakistanis are our asset and playing an important role in the stability of the country’s economy through remittances.
These views were expressed by him while talking to a five-member delegation led by Barrister Amjad Malik, Chief Coordinator of Overseas Pakistanis, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) UK who called on him at Governor House Lahore on Saturday.
Muhammad Balighur Rahman said that the PML-N has always given importance to the overseas business community and solved their problems. He said that the government is determined to get the country out of crisis despite many problems and less resources.
He said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his entire economic team under the leadership of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar are working to stabilize the country’s economy.
Governor Punjab said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his experienced team had brought the country out of the economic crisis in the past as well and Insha Allah we will succeed once again. He further said that instead of spreading despair in the nation, there is a need to give hope.
During the meeting, Chief Coordinator of Overseas Pakistanis Barrister Amjad Malik, while giving a briefing to the Governor of Punjab about the worldwide organization of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Overseas Pakistanis, said that our export quality goods have received many awards due to the best quality in the world.
Amjad Malik said that the export of Pakistani rice, mangoes, oranges and other products by the overseas Pakistani businessmen is having a good impact on the economy. He further said that the overseas Pakistani businessmen have always given priority to quality. This is why Pakistani products are valued all over the world, an example of which is the footballs and other products made in Pakistan used in the FIFA World Cup.
On this occasion, the delegation informed the Governor of Punjab about the various problems faced by the immigrants. Governor Punjab assured to convey the problems faced by the overseas Pakistanis to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
The delegation included Muhammad Arshad Malik, President of Legal Wing UK Chaudhry Nisar Mahmood Advocate, Chairman of Business Council UK Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry, Senior Vice President of Muslim League (N) Saudi Arabia Mahmoodul Haque Dogar.
