Nur University marks Int’l Women Day

NUR International University Lahore celebrated International Women’s Day at NIU here on MOnday.

Guest speakers included very well-known Mrs. Khawar Mumtaz (Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women), Mrs. Zarin Arif (CEO & Founder of Jahanaara Memorial Trust Director Student Leadership Program), Ms. Uzma Noman – TV anchor & Media Analyst and Ms. Hadiyya Aazer (Publicist/Fashion Designer & Blogger) in this event.

The guest speakers talked and highlightedthe importance of the International Women’s Day.

Women of the world want and deserve an equal future free from stigma, stereotypes and violence; a future that’s sustainable, peaceful, with equal rights and opportunities for all. To get us there, the world needs women at every table where decisions are being made.

Women are also at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19, as front-line and health sector workers, as scientists, doctors and caregivers, yet they get paid 11 per cent less globally than their male counterparts.

Huge tribute was given by all speakers to women who have done great struggle in their lives to become socially and economically stable and serve their community and other women.

Dean NIU Prof. Dr. Naumana Amjad, Ms. Maliha Sami (Manager Students Affairs) from Nur International University spoke at the event and also pay special tribute to the struggle of women in society.

Students attended the event with great energy and enthusiasm and given mime performance as well.
