As the Corona virus is spreading with fast pace in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the confirmed cases of the COVID-19 have surged to 13500 with 575 deaths till date, Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Khan Wazir has said that crackdown against the violators of SOPs has been paced up all over the province, a step aimed at containing the spread of the deadly pandemic.
More over the provincial government has banned entry into the hospitals without wearing mask and the Provincial Health Department has directed the hospitals administration to display banners at entrance points of the hospitals bearing the text ‘No face mask no entry in KP hospitals’. Briefing the Media in Peshawar on Sunday the Advisor on Information said a total of 33,001 inspections have been carried out across the province where a total of 3,553 businesses have been fined and 811 businesses have been sealed while Rs.1704262 have been deposited in the provincial treasury so far in terms of fines.
Besides this, the advisor said, fuel stations that do not provide petrol have also been sealed. He said similar operations were being carried out across the province against artificial shortage of petrol and non-compliance of SOPs. Ajmal Wazir advised Bilawal Zardari to focus on Sindh province instead of launching criticism on the PTI and the KP government saying the recovery rate in KP was better than that in Sindh.
‘Corona Cases are being reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in accordance with WHO guidelines and bodies of those passed away due to Corona in the province are now being handed over to their families and incase of Corona positive result after the death such bodies are included in corona list’ Ajmal Wazir added. He said that Corona cases were not being concealed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adding that Initially, Corona’s testing capacity in the province was only 20, which has now been increased to about 2,800.
Ajmal Wazir said that seventh consignment of safety equipment to 49 hospitals of the province has been provided to equip the doctors and paramedics fighting against COVID 19 pandemic. Safety equipment consists of: 52,315 N-95 masks, 26522 KN-95 masks, 485 D-95, 430000 face masks are provided along with 7925 protective suits,18244 surgical gowns, 21185 Caps, 21000 shoe covers, 10330 pair of surgical gloves, 3475 face shield and 1135 protective goggles.
The Advisor for information further said that district administration was taking action against those who were creating artificial shortage of flour in the province. He said that both district administration and food department were taking stern action against those who sell flour at a higher rate than the fixed rate adding that Chief Minister Mehmood Khan had issued clear orders to take strict action against those who were creating artificial inflation.
