Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that the progress on Nishter-II Multan project is satisfactory and the hospital will be opened for public in October this year. She expressed these views during her visit to the site of under-construction Nishter-II in Multan on Thursday.
She also chaired a meeting of the stakeholders and reviewed progress on the project.
Secretary Health SH&ME South Nadir Chatha, Secretary P&D Mujahid Sherdil, Special Secretary SH&ME Dr. Asif Tufail acommpanied the Minister. Secretary P&D gave a briefing to the Health Minister about the project. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said, “Progress on the Nishter-II Project is satisfactory and the hospital will be opened for public in October. This is a 500-bedded facility and over the last half-a-century this is the first major addition of a general hospital at Multan. As per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar we are striving to improve healthcare facilities for the people of Punjab. South Punjab was ignored in the past.”
The Health Minister said that PTI government has made South Punjab the focus of development projects. International level facilities bear testimony to the commitment of the government for quality healthcare services, she added. She said that good quality healthcare services are being provided to people of South Punjab. Prime Minister Imran Khan fulfilled his promise of good quality healthcare through the introduction of Naya Pakistan Qomi Sehat Card, she concluded.
