At least nine people including two women were killed in different parts of the terror hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. Those killed also include a man and woman falling victim to the honor killing.
In Chaparial area of Matta tehsil, Swat district, a man and a woman were brutally shot dead in the name of honor. The accused, identified as the husband of the woman, committed the heinous act. The police promptly apprehended the perpetrator and confiscated the weapon used in the crime. An FIR (First Information Report) was registered, and the police commenced their investigation into the matter.
In yet another heart-wrenching incident in Shabqadar some twenty kilometers from the Provincial metropolis, three people including a young girl, were brutally gunned down over a domestic dispute. According to the police, a person opened fire on his 50-year-old brother, killing Gul Sher, his 20 year-old son and 13-year-old daughter on the spot. Gul Sher’s wife sustained severe bullet injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital in a critical condition
Likewise a dispute over house ownership led to a violent altercation, resulting in the deaths of two brothers and a nephew in Charsadda district. The accused, identified as Jehanzeb, had an ongoing dispute with his brothers over the ownership of their house. In response to the dispute, the victims had filed an application with the police against Jehanzeb. The deceased were identified as Mir Ali, Nawaz, and Akbar.
There has been an alarming surge in the incidence of terrorism and violence in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last few weeks as in the past 72 hours as at least sis security personals have been martyred and well over a dozen wounded seriously in number of suicide explosions, ambushes on the police posts and targeting the paramilitary forces convoys. Besides, dozens of people fell victims to the firing incidents sending a wave of anxiety and complete insecurity among the dwellers.
