The family of Nimrita Amarta Maher Chandani a BDS final-year student at Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC) who was found dead in her hostel room in Larkana on Monday has refuted earlier reports that the student committed suicide and demanded a “transparent investigation” into the circumstances of her death.
Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Aneela Attaur Rehman had told media on Monday that Nimrita was found dead in her room, which was locked. She said that the mobile phone and other belongings of the deceased student, along with other evidence, were taken into custody by police for a forensic analysis. The actual cause of her death has yet to be ascertained, she had said.
