Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar along with various NGOs has announced provision of clean drinking water to more than 8 million people across Punjab province.
The Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (PAPA) is also ready to run sewerage system and rehabilitate the closed filtration plants of Wasa. The work will start on the project as soon as the government allocates fund for the purpose.
According to a press release here on Tuesday, Governor Ch Sarwar was addressing a press conference at Governor’s House Lahore along with Abe-Pak-Authority Chairman Dr Shakeel Ahmed, Chief Executive Syed Zahid Aziz and representatives of different welfare organizations.
Secretary to Governor Punjab Omar Saeed and Principal Secretary Dr Rashid Mansoor were also present on the occasion.
Responding to a questions, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar emphasized on strengthening the democracy within Pakistan’s political parties, saying that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has the highest level of democracy in comparison to other political parties in which dissenting views of its members are also heard, adding that instead of wasting their time in street protests against the government, they should sit with the government on the issue of electoral reforms for transparent elections in the country.
