LAHORE – The national team’s fast bowler Naseem Shah was denied an NOC for The Hundred League, the sources close to the development said on Saturday.

Naseem Shah had signed a contract with Birmingham Phoenix for The 100 and had applied to the PCB for an NOC.

However, the board did not issue the NOC to the fast bowler under workload management.

Naseem Shah faced fitness issues last year.

Now, given the important matches of the World Test Championship and since he is a cricketer for all three formats, the NOC request was denied as a precautionary measure to keep him safe from injuries, the sources said, adding that the cricketers was informed about this.

It may be mentioned here that Naseem Shah was included in the most expensive category of The 100 league, worth £125,000, which amounts to approximately 45 million Pakistani rupees.
