ISLAMABAD – A decision has been made to convene both the National Assembly and Senate sessions on October 17 for the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The summary for calling the session has been sent by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to the Prime Minister.

After the President’s approval, the National Assembly session will be held at 4 PM, while the Senate session will be held at 3 PM on October 17.

Meanwhile, the final round of consultations between political parties on the 26th Constitutional Amendment has started, and an important meeting of the Parliamentary Special Committee has been scheduled for tomorrow at 4pm.

The committee would be chaired by Syed Khursheed Shah, where the draft of the 26th Constitutional Amendment would be prepared, and consultations would take place on the draft proposals of political parties.

Besides it,  the members of the Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) currently abroad, have been instructed to return to Pakistan to ensure their participation in the sessions.
