National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser held one on one meeting with acting Punjab Governor Ch Pervaiz Elahi at Governor’s House on Tuesday and exchanged views about political situation at the centre and province and other matters of mutual interest.
On this occasion, Speaker Asad Qaiser talked to acting Governor Ch Parvez Elahi regarding reforms in the agriculture sector in Punjab. Talking to the media, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said that during his tour to Punjab, he had met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and today met Ch Pervaiz Elahi, the veteran politician.
He said that the government has formed a committee in the National Assembly regarding reforms in agriculture, adding that a similar committee will be formed in Punjab as well as agriculture is a very important sector and backbone of economy, there is need for further improvement in this sector.
Talking to the media, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that discussions were held with the speaker National Assembly, adding that guidelines in this regard will be devised and shared to benefit from each other experiences. He regretted that in Punjab, no such work could be done in the past for agriculture sector, adding that the PML-Q government had done record work for agriculture development and now they again started the work from there where they had left. He expressed his hope that things will move towards further improvement. He said that meetings have been held with Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in the past as well and termed him a person with seasoned nature.
During the meeting, consultation was also held regarding preventive measures against pandemic of Corona and implementation of SOPs.

The Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department will conduct a webinar on ‘Decline of Sports in Pakistan’ on August 19, 2020.
The webinar will be held under the instructions of Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology and Tourism Punjab Ehsan Bhutta and Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh. All divisional, district, tehsil sports officers and coaches of the province will take part in the webinar. Experts will deliver a lecture on the topic of ‘Decline of Sports in Pakistan’ during the online training workshop.
DEATH OF COP CONDOLED
SP headquarters Muhammad Afzal Nazeer went to the home of deceased constable Muzammil Hussain and condoled with the bereaved family and offered Fateha for the deceased constable.
Constable Muzammil Hussain who was deployed on security of PHP store died last night. The said constable suffered from kidney infection few days ago and was under treatment in the hospital. Currently, Addl IG PHP is on visit of South Punjab therfore as per his special direction SP headquarters Muhammad Afzal Nazeer went to Mohlanwal village of deceased constable and shared grief of his family whereas fateh khani was also offered for higher ranks of the deceased. SP headquarters said that deceased constable Muzammil Hussain was part of our force and we all are like a family so we equally share the grief of family of the deceased. On this occasion, he directed to pay departmental arrears to family of deceased as early as possible. May Allah grant higher ranks to deceased and keep his soul in higher ranks of Janat.
