Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, an independent candidate from National Assembly Constituency NA 47 and 48 in Islamabad, has gracefully accepted his defeat and expressed concern over the alleged irregularities in the election process. In a tweet on the social networking website X, Khokhar admitted his defeat with an open heart and raised questions about the transparency of the results.
Khokhar expressed disappointment over the defeat of PTI candidate Ali Bukhari in Constituency 48, emphasizing that Bukhari appeared to be in a clear lead. Additionally, he highlighted that Shoaib Shaheen, who had seemingly won from Constituency 47 by a significant margin, has not been officially declared the winner. Khokhar condemned these incidents as the “worst kind of rigging” and accused certain entities of manipulating the results.
In his tweet, Khokhar noted that those rumored to have manipulated the results were not even in contention during the election. He called attention to what he deemed as a dangerous game being played with the democratic process, urging authorities to address these concerns promptly.
The unfolding situation adds to the post-election turbulence as Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar’s claims cast shadows on the credibility of the results.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission released unofficial and incomplete results from several constituencies, highlighting the success of PTI-backed independent candidates. Notably, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in NA-44 Dera Ismail Khan, Saleem Rehman in NA-3 Swat, Muhammad Nawaz Khan in NA-13 Bitgram, and Ali Khan Jadoon in NA-17 Abbottabad 2 emerged victorious in their respective contests. As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the elections, the allegations of rigging and the acceptance of defeat by key players raise concerns about the integrity of the electoral process and its implications for the democratic fabric of the country.
