The ICC (International Cricket Council) invited the world’s highest Test wicket taker, Muthiah Muralidharan, and India’s former aggressive batter Virender Sehwag to launch the 2023 World Cup in Mumbai.

The tournament will be played from Oct. 5 to Nov. 19

The ICC on Tuesday, 100 days before the Marquee event, announced the venues of all matches for the 50-over World Cup to be played across 10 cities.

Sri Lankan spinner Murali has predicted India and England in the final.

“England is now really playing well. Even they are playing Test cricket as ODIs . My view is that India and England will play the final”

However, Murali wishes to see that India and Pakistan play the final on Nov. 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

“Pakistan is also a good team but unpredictable. On any day, they can still play an exciting game. Personally, I would like to see India-Pak play the final and fans get entertainment.

Sehwag has predicted India, Pakistan, England, and Australia to be the semi-finalists and a final between India and Pakistan.

Mumbai and Kolkata are to host the two semi-finals on Nov. 15 and 16.

The 45 league matches and the three knockouts will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune over a span of 46 days.
