PESHAWAR – The newly-elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly took oath in Peshawar on Wednesday.

Speaker Mustaq Ghani, who was presiding the session of the provincial legislature, administered the oath to the 115 MPAs-elect amid commotion and ruckus in the assembly hall.

The session, which was set to begin at 11 am, was started with the delay after a chaotic situation was observed inside the assembly.

During the session, PML-N lawmaker Sobia Shahid wielded a watch in an apparent reference to PTI founder Imran Khan’s conviction in Toshakhana case. It drew strong response from the galleries of the assembly as people hurled shoes, pen and other thing at her.

Meanwhile, commotion was observed when a large number of people tried to enter the hall in order to witness the oath ceremony.

The ruckus also caused trouble for the MPAS-elect while entering the assembly premises.
