A meeting between the Chairman of the Businessmen Group (BMG) and Former President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Zubair Motiwala, and a delegation of the All-Pakistan Memon Federation (APMF) held over Zoom. The discussion revolved around utilizing the facilities provided by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to form a consortium for acquiring land for agricultural production.
The goal is to address global food security concerns and engage youth in agriculture, providing them with an alternative to traditional job-seeking after completing IT training programs.
Zubair Motiwala encouraged APMF to express interest in the initiative, offering to arrange a meeting with SIFC authorities through the Karachi Chamber. He emphasizes the potential for APMF to contribute to agricultural business and help youth become self-sufficient.
Motiwala appreciated the APMF’s efforts in arranging finances for marriages, providing IT training, and supporting various social activities. He pledged support from KCCI in advocating any issues faced by APMF in Islamabad.
President KCCI Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh welcomed the APMF delegation and acknowledges the Memon community’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic development. He highlighted the APMF’s role in promoting educational and social activities, expressing KCCI’s readiness to provide support and cooperation. Motiwala suggested that APMF collaborate with international IT service providers to create opportunities for youth in the IT sector.
He advises focusing on initiatives that enable young individuals to be self-reliant rather than merely seeking employment. President APMF M. Shabbir Haroon outlined APMF’s vision and ongoing initiatives, including establishing universities, colleges, labs, hospitals, and providing sponsorships and discounts to the community. He expresses the desire to broaden APMF’s scope by facilitating everyone, not just the less-privileged.
