Just days removed from the Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi slug-fest, PSL 8 saw another records-tumbling contest between Zalmi and Multan Sultans at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
The players from each side traded blow after blow and boundary after boundary as Sultans chased down the 243-run target with five balls to spare.
Rilee Rossouw was responsible for many of the records all by himself against the helpless bowling lineup of Zalmi.
List of Records broken by Zalmi, Sultans and Rossouw:
- The 41-ball hundred by Rossouw is the fastest in the PSL history beating his own previous best of 43 balls which he set against Quetta Gladiators in 2020.
- The 17-ball fifty for Rossow is the joint quickest in PSL history tied with Kamran Akmal, Hazratullah Zazai and Asif Ali.
- Sultan’s 243-run chase is the highest in PSL 8, beating Gladiators’ record just two days ago. It is also joint second-best in the history of T20 cricket behind only Australia’s 244 against New Zealand.
- The 32 sixes hit by both teams is the most in PSL history bettering the 28 the Qlandars and the Gladiators hit in Lahore earlier this season.
- The 487 runs scored by the two sides is the most amount of runs in a PSL match bettering the record set by Zalmi and Gladiators just days ago.
