More rains, gusty winds likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday evening/night, Friday and Saturday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate southern/central parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over the southern/upper parts.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northeast Balochistan on Thursday evening/night and the following two days. Few hailstorms, and heavy falls are also likely in northeast Balochistan, central/ upper Punjab and south Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the period. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Friday and 41-43°C on Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, windstorm/thunderstorm rains occurred in Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed over other parts of the country.

Gwadar, Sibbi and Turbat remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Pasni was recorded at 46°C, Jacobabad, Jiwani and Lasbella at 45°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 38 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 30 per cent.
