The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sialkot Farooq Akmal on Saturday launched mobile application, ‘Smoking Free Pakistan’ in order to check the violation the law to curb smoking. While addressing the meeting of ‘Tobacco Control task Force’ to launch the mobile application at the Deputy Commissioner Office, ADC Farooq Akmal told that the mobile application would not only help in taking snaps of those busy in publicly violating the anti-smoking law, but those snaps would also be immediately shared with the law enforcers in order to a take prompt action against the violators.
He said that the Tobacco Control task Force would take swift action in the entire district in order to check and control the trend of smoking at the public places. Dr Minhaj us Siraj, the project director ‘Tobacco Free Cities’ (a National Health Department project), told the meeting 438 people died every day in Pakistan because of the diseases related to smoking.
