MNS Agricultural University hosts Int’l online conference

A one-day International Online Conference on “Biodiversity Research and Preservation” was held at MNS Agricultural University in collaboration with University of Kassel and DAAD Germany.

The conference was chaired by MNS Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ali while the special guests were Prof Dr Andreas Burkert and Dr Martin Wiehle of Kassel University Germany.

Addressing the conference, Prof Dr Asif Ali underscored the important to preserve biodiversity in Pakistan and explained how biodiversity reservation and importance in Pakistan.

He said that the MNS Agricultural University, Kassel University Germany and DAAD Germany will work together on biodiversity in different parts of Pakistan in which experiments and research will be conducted in different places like Bahawalpur, Thar, Cholistan, Gilgit. He expressed his hope that positive results will come out.

In their address, Dr. Andreas Burkert and Dr. Martin Wiehle, highlighted the strategy and importance of the ecosystem.

They explained how the ecosystem can be protected. They said that in collaboration with MNA Agricultural University Multan, beneficial plants which are being neglected due to ignorance in different parts of Pakistan would be exploited and benefited.

Research proposals were also submitted by the students regarding the biodiversity project at the conference, which were commented on in detail and suggestions were made to improve them.

Directors from BCI and NARC Islamabad, Dr Sadr Din Siddiqui, PGRI and NARC from Islamabad, Dr Abdul Laghfoor, Dr Muhammad Kashif Ilyas, Dr Zulfiqar Ali and Dr Hamad Nadeem Tahir also gave their suggestions regarding biodiversity.
