Minister reveals Rs11.74b mega development plan for Attock

The Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari has unveiled a two years mega development plan for district Attock under which not only missing civic facilities would be provided to the residents of the area but also their living standard would be improved.

He was talking media persons at Attock press club camp office on Sunday. Focal Person PTI Syed Khawar Abbas Bukhari, Member Cantonment Board Syed Mehdi Shah, PTI coordinator Honey Sheikh, Tehsil President PTI Attock Abid Chaudhry, President Attock Press Club (APC) Faisal Javed, Vice chairman (APC) Asad sheikh, APC executive body member were also present on this occasion.

While giving details, Mr Bukhari said that an amount of Rs 11.74 billion would be spent on 1174 different development schemes in Attock current fiscal year. In the health sector, the minister has said that mother and child care hospital- which is his brain child would be completed at a cost of Rs 5 million projects on 75 kanals of land during next fiscal year.

He said that the district headquarters hospital would be transformed in to the state of the art hospital under which 150 additional bed capacity would provide which would be gradually increased to 800 beds to upgrade the hospital to a teaching hospital.

He said that the nursing school would also be upgraded to nursing college to provide enhanced teaching facilities to the nursing students at their home district rather than going to Rawalpindi or Lahore for higher medical education.

He said that Attock district would get a state of the art medical social unit with an allocation of Rs 8.3 million during the current fiscal year through the funds provided by Social Welfare department. While unveiling details, Mr Bukhari said that Medical Social Services Projects (MSSP) are established particularly for needy patients especially district headquarters hospitals (DHQs) and tehsil headquarters hospital (THQs) across the province with aim to taking care of poor, needy.
