Change and Coastal Development Department (ECC&CDD) Sindh, M. Ismail Rahoo visited EPA Complex and chaired a review meeting of the ADP budget component of ECC&CDD on Thursday here.Additional Chief Secretary ECC&CDD Muhammad Hassan Iqbal briefed him on the overall status of all ongoing and newly approved schemes while DG
SEPA Naeem Ahmed Mughal and DG CDA briefed the Minister regarding the progress of their respective components .Minister for Environment Ismail Rahoo asked the officials concerned to expedite the process of execution of ongoing schemes and approval of new schemes. He said that CM Sindh is taking a keen interest in fully utilizing all the development funds to benefit the common man and strengthen the development infrastructure of the province.He further said that any leniency with regard to the implementation of subject schemes shall not be tolerated and strict action shall be taken against any lethargy in delivering the benefits to the public. “It is our bounden duty to transfer the funds through development activities to those who are real owners of public exchequer and they are obviously people of the province”, he added.
He also asked the concerned authorities to initiate inquiry against those responsible for willful lapses and leakages of public funds and
send their recommendations to concerned quarters for taking strict action against them.Earlier Additional Chief Secretary, Muhammad Hassan Iqbal informed the Minister that there are total of 21 schemes pertaining to ECC&CDD out of which 13 belong to SEPA and 8 to CDA. Out of total 13 schemes of SEPA 8 are ongoing while 5 are new while CDA has four each related to ongoing and new schemes. DG SEPA Naeem Ahmed Mughal and DG CDA also briefed Minister Ismail Rahoo regarding the status of both types of schemes.
