Minister directs implementing Ramazan price control mechanism

Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro has directed the concerned officers of the District Administration and others authorities to ensure implementation of Ramazan price control mechanism in the district Hyderabad.

He directed them to initiate strict crackdowns against profiteers and hoarders in order to control prices of food items and essential commodities during holy month of the Ramzan so that substantial relief would be provided to the people of Hyderabad.

The provincial minister issued the directions while chairing a meeting held here at Shehbaz Hall, DC Office on Thursday to maintain the price control of essential commodities in the Hyderabad during the month of Ramazan. The meeting was attended by the MPA Abdul Jabbar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Faud Ghaffar Somroo and relevant officers.

Jam Khan Shoro strictly directed them for taking effective measures in order to ensure sale of sugar, ghee, flour and other essential food items at the prices fixed by the district administration. He said that it will be intolerable that essential food items are sold over and above the fixed prices and strict actions should be taken against those shopkeepers who do not display price lists at prominent places.

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fawad Ghaffar Soomro giving briefing to the provincial minister said that Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiars of four Talukas of Hyderabad alongwith officers of Market Committee are conducting visits of markets and shops of their respective areas for checking prices of essential commodities on daily basis and have been also imposing heavy fines against profiteers and hoarders while a control room has been also set up for receiving complaints from the public.

Meanwhile, Minister Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro condoled with the Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Nadeem Ur Rehman Memon over sad demise of his brother at his office. He offered Fateha and expressed deep sorrow and sympathies with him and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and patience for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
