Minister directs clinical audit of govt hospitals

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has directed clinical audit of government hospitals of the province.
The health minister was presiding over a high-level meeting in Specialized Health and Medical Education Department on Tuesday. Secretary Health Barrister Nabeel Awan, Special Secretary Salwat Saeed, Additional Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Zahidur Rehman Bata, Majid Rafique, Prof. Javed Chaudhry and Huma and Usman were present on the occasion.
The meeting reviewed the different recommendations for the clinic audit of government hospitals. The Secretary Health and other officers briefed the Minister about the details of formation of committees for clinical audit of government hospitals.
The minister said that numbers of patients have increased tremendously due to the improvement of quality of medical facilities being provided in government hospitals of Punjab.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said that clinical audit of three major hospitals in Lahore will be carried out in the first phase. Public feedback regarding medical facilities being provided in government hospitals will be helpful for further improving the situation. Attendance of professors and doctors, patients’ feedback, medical facilities, repair of medical equipment and attitude of doctors towards their patients will be kept in view in clinical audit of government hospitals.
Provision of better medical facilities to the patients in public sector hospitals is the first priority of the government.
Budget of billions of rupees are given to government hospitals for creating ease for the people. Dr Yasmin Rashid told that the meeting during her recent meeting with Imran Khan, she briefed the Prime Minister about the progress of new Mother & Child Hospital in Punjab and details of public feedback on Sehat Insaf Cards. She said that process of self-accountability guarantees of betterment. She said meeting will be called twice a month to review the progress on clinical audit. Dr Yasmin Rashid also visited the site of Mother & Child Hospital in Ganga Ram.
Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Dr. Aamir Zaman Khan and other concerned officials briefed the Provincial Minister on the progress of construction of Mother & Child Hospital.
She said that seven new Mother & Child Hospitals in Punjab will ensure the maternal and infant health.
She said that best healthcare facilities are being ensured to the people of Punjab.
