MG Motors Pakistan, with the support of its shareholders SAIC International and Pakistan’s JW Group, provided a disaster relief fund of Rs. 15.25 million through the Pakistan Alkhidmat Foundation, which is responsible for the procurement and distribution of supplies and medical assistance services.
According to Gwadar Pro, the delivery ceremony was held Friday to deliver the supplies to the affected people in Sindh Province.
The floods brought about by the monsoon rains from mid-June to the end of August this year have destroyed one million houses, affected the basic livelihoods of 33 million people to varying degrees, and resulted in huge economic losses estimated at US$50 billion.
People from all walks of life in Pakistan and China, including the motor industry, have taken action one after another to donate money and materials.—INP
