Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has unveiled a live dashboard designed to keep citizens updated on the progress of covering open manholes throughout the city. The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) launched the initiative, allowing the public to monitor the ongoing campaign and track complaints submitted via the KW&SC helpline.
During a briefing at the Chairman Secretariat on Friday, an IT consultant demonstrated the dashboard’s features to Mayor Wahab. The platform provides citizens with real-time access to relevant information from the comfort of their homes, marking a significant step toward transparency and public engagement.
Mayor Wahab praised the KW&SC for this innovative move and reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving municipal services. “Every effort will be made to provide better services to the people,” he stated, adding that further measures will soon be introduced to address public grievances more effectively.
On the occasion, the mayor directed the KW&SC to expedite the completion of technical upgrades to its website and restore it promptly. He also instructed the Corporation to modernize its billing system, making it more user-friendly so that citizens can conveniently access and pay their water bills on time.
